The first reservior of palmer lake

I went on an awesome hike today to Mount Herman, north of town. It was raining a little bit, but it was well worth it. The rain was beautiful in the setting sun, but I didn’t see any rainbows. It was falling on the first reservoir.

The fox at the reservoir

That’s when I saw a beautiful fox, it wasn’t afraid of humans and looked at me from about 3 feet away. I think that it wanted the rest of the sandwich in my backpack.

From there, I went to the second reservior, the rain stopped by then and the second reservior was absolutely gorgeous. Very calm, deep, green water. From there I went on the trail to The Winding Staircase, which was full of Aspen trees, Columbine, Indian Paintbrush and wild strawberries. There were many paths to follow and I’ll have to explore more next time I go.

To the right, there’s a trail that leads to a plane crash, to the left, there’s more wooded areas. I can’t wait to go with my camera (instead of my camera phone) and share more.
